Colombo Port handles biggest vessel

The Colombo Port successfully handled its biggest and brand new vessel Mv. Ever Chivalry owned by global giant Evergreen Lines of Taiwan.

Built by Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea, the ship has a capacity of 8,073 TEUs. Built in January 2006 it has a length of 333,993 metres and sails under the flag of Marshell Islands.

The vessel sails at a service speed of 25 knots and has a crew of 34 on board. Part of the China Far East Europe service, Mv. Ever Chivalry sailed to Colombo Port Jaya Container Terminal from Port Tanjun Pelpas, Malaysia on her way to Taranta Italy.
