Celebrating creative talent : Createract 2006

Charted in 1969, the Rotaract Club of Colombo is the first Rotaract Club to be established in Sri Lanka and has a history of appreciated community service and professional development spanning 36 years.

Operating within the family of the international Rotary movement, the Rotaract club of Colombo is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo.

One of the main annual projects is "Createract!" - a festival celebrating creative talent, which is being organized for the 14th successive year. This is intended to promote fellowship in the Rotary family, by bringing together Interactors and Rotaractors through the display of their talents, in a truly creative atmosphere.

Last year, this project recorded the highest participation so far, with over 500 participants in total. The list of judges for the various competitions featured renowned names like Indu Dharmasena, Mohammed Adamally, ShohanChandiram and Natasha the jazz performer.

This year, the event will be held on Sunday March 5 March 2006 at the Sasakawa Hall, Colombo-3. Renowned names like Bathiya and Santhush and Rozanne Diaz will be featured guests at this event.

The main sponsor of this event is the American College of Higher Education. The event is expected to have an overwhelming participation this year with 30 Interact and Rotaract clubs participating.

The 'Createract' 2006 will feature 11 events. !st, 2nd and 3 rd place winners will be given awards and certificates, the averall winners of the event will be given a special award.The event is expected to start at 9:00AM and end at 5PM.
