Army refutes Tamilnet story

The Sri Lanka Army while vehemently denying a story reaffirmed in a pro LTTE website that no Security Forces personnel as reported in their story entered un-cleared areas on Saturday early mornings.

Nor has the Security Force under any circumstances have aided or abetted any armed group, its press release stated.

Reports attributing to fishermen, in the North in pro-LTTE media that harassments have been caused to fishermen by the Navy is also denied.

Meanwhile sections of students from higher education centre at Thirunaveli, Jaffna have been reportedly provoked by LTTE aides to agitate against the Security Forces on Saturday it said.

It was only on Tuesday (28) the Human Right Commission in Jaffna lauded the Security Forces for their progress of relationship between the Security Forces, civil organisations and students.
