The first 'Theme Park' in Sri Lanka

Ready for some heart-in-your-throat screaming? Wanna swim in your own sea and ride a fume log through waves of water? Challenge a pirate ship and monster water slides indulge yourself in a paddle boat ride amidst breathtaking sceneries and enjoy live entertainment while the lazy river tickles your adrenaline.

Be prepared to explore the first ever theme park in Sri Lanka.

The Leisure World Water Parks Private Limited, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka brings over 28 water and amusement activities and many more attractions.

A short drive away from the busy Colombo City, the 52-acre park located in Kaluaggala, Hanwella is designed with the whole family in mind.

Toddlers will have their own play area with their own set of slides and interactive play features, while the wave pool, junior coaster, happy express and water slides are perfect for older kids and teens.

The lazy river ride is fun at any age, the speed boats and space ship are for those adventure hunters.The park, which will be declared open by President Mahinda Rajapakse tomorrow, is scheduled to commence commercial activities on the first week of April.

According to Sunil Muthumala, Chairman Leisure World Water Parks Private Limited, this is one of the biggest theme parks in South Asia. The management looks forward to tie up with travel companies in order to promote this Rs. 350 million BOI project as a tourist attraction.

The natural landscaping includes abundant green space, and even more shade provided by huge palms and evergreens. According to the management, polythene, plastics and glass bottles will not be allowed in the environment-friendly park.

The theme park that can accommodate 2500 guests boasts of many more attractions such as an air Conditioned food court with a seating capacity for over 500 guests, souvenir shops and a car park free of charge.

A rainforest featuring 52 species from Sinharaja forest, cycling, trekking, go-carts and an Amphi theatre with a seating capacity of 500 includes the second phase expansion of the park.

The management guarantees the safety of guests with a free insurance cover while being well equipped with on call doctors, ambulance, nursing staff and life-guards.
