Dharmaraja all-rounder Rukshan Sooriyarachchi had a dream Centenary Big Match when he captured 5 for 47 and also scored 113 to lift the hero's tag in their hill capitals 100th Battle of the Maroons against Kingswood which ended in a draw at Asgiriya yesterday.

Rukshan Sooriyarachchi on the first day bowled his off spinners to a tidy length often turning the ball viciously had the Kingswood batsman groping to end up with 5 for 47.

Sooriyarachchi who came in with the score at 100 for 2 treated the bowling to its merits and his first two scoring strokes were boundaries. He reached his half century with a sizzling stroke to the ropes. He reached his hundred with an elegant drive to the ropes. He was out caught at the wicket by Jayasuriya in trying to force the pace off Demintha Dahanayake.

For his all-round effort Rukshan Sooriyarachchi carried away three separate awards - the Best Batsman, the Best All-rounder and the Man of the Match and also several cash awards.

The Kingswoodians batting a second time were 146 for 6 at close propped up through a fine knock 51 with 8 fours off 78 deliveries by opener Prasad Senaratne.
