American Power Conversion (India) (Pvt) Ltd is on a major expansion
drive in Sri Lanka which includes opening a service office by the third
quarter and at least holding one event per quarter to educate customers
on new trends and technologies used in data centres.
Country General Manager APC (India) (Pvt) Ltd Pankaj Sharma said that
the rationale for expansion is the huge potential we see in Sri Lanka in
the IT sector. We want to be an active partner and contribute in the
development.
Some of the plans in the pipeline are opening a service office during
the third quarter, vertical focused training for Sri Lankan partners,
form an APC enterprise user group, expansion on entry level channel and
targeted marketing plan for enterprise business solutions.
At present we concentrate on enterprise accounts through our sole
distributor Ingram Micro. We are an innovation based company and
therefore the products launched in Sri Lanka are made specially to suit
the requirements of Sri Lankans.
APC's InfraStruXure is on-demand architecture for Network-Critical
Physical Infrastructure (NCPI). The InfraStruXure design, which
integrates power, cooling, rack, management and services, allows the
selection of standardised, modular components to create a customised
solution.
This standardisation coupled with APC's web-based Build Out Tool
enables an easily scalable architecture designed to meet changing needs
and future expansion. This patent-pending approach provides increased
availability, improved adaptability and speed of deployment as well as
lowered total cost of ownership for IT environments - from wiring
closets to computer rooms to data centres.
APC's corporate offices are in West Kingston, Rhode Island. The
Company has sales offices throughout the world; manufacturing facilities
in the US, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Philippines, China, India and
Brazil; and ships products to nearly 160 countries. In 2004, 50% of
APC's revenue was in the Americas (North and Latin America), 32% were in
Europe, the Middle East and Africa and 18% were in Asia. As of December
31, 2004, APC had approximately 6,455 full-time employees worldwide.
