Sri Lanka Garment Buying Offices tie up with Companion
The garment industry has been the number one source of economic
growth and employment provider for the country. The Sri Lanka garment
sector is on par with leading textile manufacturing countries.
The Sri Lanka Garment Buying Offices Association was formed with the
primary objective of promoting and fostering the growth of the garment
industry in Sri Lanka. The members of the Sri Lanka Garment Buying
Offices Association represent international and prestigious brand names
and are responsible for the generation of approximately 70% of Sri
Lanka's exports of textiles and apparel.
Resonance has been introduced as the official magazine for the Sri
Lanka Garment Buying Offices Association. The magazine is a quarterly
presentation of information for the vast garment sector. Resonance is
distributed free to the ultimate decision makers of the industry.
Companion is a new English magazine in Sri Lanka, whose launch issue
was in January 2006. It is classified as a comprehensive guide and is
the only magazine to be published of its kind worldwide. The Sri Lanka
Garment Buying Offices Association recently tied up with Companion
Magazine (Pvt) Ltd. to conceptualise, design, publish and market
resonance from the July issue onwards.
"I am pleased to give the assignment of publishing our official
magazine to the up and coming young company, Companion, and am confident
they will do a good job for us", said the Chairman of the Sri Lanka
Garment Buying Offices Association, Rajeev Samarasinghe.
"We are happy that Companion has been recognised for the standard and
quality it has been targeted to achieve" said Rishad Farook, Managing
Director of Companion Magazine (Pvt) Ltd. "We are looking to create
resonance with the same principles and standard that Companion has been
directed at".
