Prison men play 'Narco-cricket'

Sponsored by drug barons and underworld lords, some Prison officials had emplaned to Malaysia on a cricket tour at a cost of Rs. 1.5 million.

The newly formed 'Narco-Cricket' team had comprised top officials like Prisons Commissioners and Superintendents, well informed sources revealed. The tour had lasted eight days.

Sources revealed that these officials regularly organised tours on cricket, hockey, soccer and volleyball with other countries and such tours were funded by millionaire drug barons serving sentences in the prison.

Sources said the racket had been in operation over a period of time.

Several prisoners are reported to have helped to secure advertisements for the souvenir to mark the narco-cricket tour to Malaysia, sources said.
