Dialog powers and sponsors Gold Cup VB
Dialog Telekom will sponsor the KIT Presidents Volleyball Gold Cup
Tournament for the second successive year.
Nushad Perera - General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Dialog
Telekom, said that the sponsorship is just not a sponsorship of a
sporting event. He said that for Dialog it is an opportunity for them to
play a part in lifting the standard of the country?s national sport to
international levels.
?It is our aim to raise the game to the level occupied by cricket,
not just in terms of popular appeal but of playing standards as well.
This sponsorship is important, not just for players and fans, but for
the country as a whole, as it will bring our national sport one step
closer to the standards, prominence and prestige deserved. At Dialog,
our quest is to keep ?Powering Sri Lanka Sport?, and as such, we take
great pride in being part of this tournament. Sponsorships like this are
an example of the difference Corporate support can make to local sports,
and sportsmen and women? said Perera.
The tournament will feature more than 500 teams all competing for
ultimate glory and the sought after KIT Presidents Volleyball Gold Cup
2006. The tournament will be conducted at district, provincial and

to the National level. This applies to the Men?s and Women?s teams at
all levels of the tournament.
The first round of matches played at district level will be played on
the 1st and 2nd of July, while the Provincial Level matches will
commence on the 8th.
