Hotels ready to host World Spice Festival
Hotels in Colombo are ready to host the World Spice Festival (WSF)
which will be held on a grand scale from September 14-21. This event
will display the culinary skills of some of the world's best master
chefs.
The Sri Lanka Tourist Board (SLTB) is organising the event as a
tourism promotional campaign. This is the second WSF to be held in Sri
Lanka; the first was held last year. SLTB chairman Udaya Nanayakkara
told the media that the festival will be a bigger and better version
this time.
The festival will be launched on September 13 at the Colombo Hilton.
Sri Lanka's hospitality industry is actively engaged in the event and 13
city hotels and restaurants are ready to offer 12 different cuisines.
SriLankan Airlines, the official airline will bring the chefs from
across the globe for the Spice Festival.
The cuisine covers Chinese, Indonesian, South African, Arabic,
Moroccan, Moghul, Thai, Singaporean, North Indian, Sri Lankan, Malaysian
and Mexican.
Head of Corporate Communications, SriLankan Airlines, Chandana De
Silva said that one of SriLanka's priority commitment is to provide
exotic choices in keeping with the highest culinary standards and
hygiene. The festival will be an ideal opportunity for tourists who are
in transit or holidaying here to enjoy a variety of delectable cuisine.

Vietnamese, Taj Samudra - South African, Cinnamon Grand - Moroccan,
Galle Face Hotel - Mexican, Holiday Inn - Moghul, Galadari Hotel -
Arabic, Waters Edge - Singaporean, Mt. Lavinia Hotel - Thai, The Mango
Tree - North Indian, The Gallery Cafe-Thai, Rajabojun - Sri Lankan.
