18 Colombo schools to remain shut tomorrow

Eighteen schools in Colombo will not re-open as scheduled tomorrow (28). They will re-open on August 30, Colombo DIG Pujitha Jayasundara said.

These schools have been given accommodation for Police officers who have been deployed on special duty to provide security to the South Asian game.

Following Colombo schools will reopen on August 30 are: Royal College, Isipathana, Mahanama, Baron Jayathilaka Vidyalaya Maligawatte, Vihara Mahadevi Vidyalaya Maradana, Maha Bodhi Vidyalaya Maradana, Al Nazar Muslim School Grandpass, St. Joseph Ladies School Grandpass, St. Joseph Boys School Grandpass, Vijayaba Vidyalaya Grandpass, Jayanthi Vidyalaya Grandpass, Bluemandal Sinhala and Bluemandal Tamil schools Grandpass, St. Anthony's Sinhala and St Anthony's Tamil Schools Grandpass, Mahinda Vidyalaya Keselwatte, Rajasinghe Vidyalaya Dematagoda and Hemamali Vidyalaya Dematagoda.
