Police recover arms from piggery

Police recovered a cache of arms from a piggery at Pamunugama Negombo
that had been smuggled by the LTTE in a bid to attack some key targets
in Colombo, Military spokesman Prasad Samarasinghe told the Sunday
Observer.
The police had recovered 8 grenades, one T 56 weapon and 135 rounds
of ammunition.
Sixteen suspects have already been taken into police custody.
The police raided this place on a tip off from the public. |
