UNP support next budget

The main opposition UNP yesterday reiterated its commitment to support the Government to solve the current crisis and also assured its support to the budget proposals, to be presented in Parliament on November 14.

Speaking to the `Sunday Observer’, UNP, Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya declined to say on what conditions the UNP was expected to support the Government. “However, all these will be known to people in the country after the signing of the MoU between the UNP and the Government tomorrow,” he said.

The UNP Deputy Leader also said that Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had met the Sanganayakas of the Malwatta and Asgiriya Chapters last week to convey the party’s assurance to the forthcoming budget proposals.
