Eight enter "quarters"

Eight teams entered the quarter-finals of the Cambrian Sixes Tournament, organised by the Cambrian Cricket Wing of Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa played yesterday, at the Moratuwa Stadium. The quarter-finalists are: Sebastianite, CCC, Police, Colts, Chilaw Marians, Army, Moors and Bloomfield.

The results of the first round:

Saracens (55 for 1) beat Panadura (42 for 2); Ragama SC (36 for 2) beat BRC (32 for 3); Police (44 for 2) beat Old Cambrians (12 all out); Air Force (28 for no loss) beat Galle CC (25 for 4); Moors (38 for 1) beat Ambalangoda Singha (33 for 2);

Bloomfield (56 for 2) beat Tamil Union (55 for 1); Sebastianite (31 for 1) beat Saracens (30 for 4); Police SC (40 all out) beat Moratuwa (37 for 3); Colts (38 for 2) beat Ragama SC (37 for 1); Chilaw Marians (45 for 3) beat Air Force (44 for 3); Army (62 for 1) beat Catamarans (18 for 2) and Moors (53 for 1) beat Lankans SC (55 for 2).

The quarter-finals will be worked out today, at the same ground from 9.00 a.m.
