Claude and the Sensations 35 years of Music

Claude and the Sensations is one of Sri Lanka's pioneer pop groups.

Thirty five years ago they were proud to release Sri Lanka's very first international release, on the Decca label "City of Colombo" composed by Claude, which became a mega hit. Now, 35 years later, they are still strong and sailing through effortlessly, with a new album of 18 popular instrumental favourites, all best loved songs, and some rarely heard today.

Their line-up boasts of some of Sri Lanka's most famous musicians. Ernest Soysa on guitar, Maurice de Silva on bass, Nesan Thiyagaraja on drums, and "King" Claude Fernando on keyboard.

They are equally adept at performing new and old songs, in English, Sinhala and Hindi, and are in demand at weddings and home-comings. They also plan to re-release their first song with updated music and another original, specially written by Claude.
