Expolanka Holdings restructures, goes for new logo
Expolanka Holdings Ltd, a leading diversified business conglomerate
recently restructured its business and launched a new logo to become a
more streamlined, efficient, and resilient global organisation ready to
respond to the global challenges and needs of the customers and become
the next top diversified conglomerate in Sri Lanka.
The company has structured all its strategic business units into five
core areas including transportation, aviation, trading, manufacturing
and strategic investments.
The company started in 1978 as a small trading company and today it
has expanded so much that Expolanka is in 40 cities across 16 countries.
Now our plan is to be among the top ten companies in Sri Lanka and
think of a public offering in the future, said Group Director Shafik
Kassim.
This year we are planning to expand our operations to Ethiopia,
Congo, Sudan and Burundi. In addition we will also secure the Schenker
Agency for worldwide logistics in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Mauritius and
the Maldives. Starting this year ExpoLanka companies will represent
Swiss Air in Bangladesh, Qatar Airways in Tanzania and Virgin Atlantic
in Mauritius and Kenya.
Classic Travels (Pvt) Ltd, set up in 1994 offers a range of
professional and personalised services.
Classic expanded its business by establishing Wings Classic Tours and
Travels Ltd in Bangladesh in 1997 as a joint venture between Expolanka
and Wings Group of Bangladesh.
The company holds the exclusive franchise of Aramex International in
Bangladesh and Taiwan.
Expolanka Freight set up in 1982 is a provider of freight forwarding
and supply chain management solutions with a strong focus on the Indian
sub continent, Africa and the Middle East.
The airline division of the company represents prestigious carriers
such as Saudia Cargo, Air France Cargo, KLM Cargo, Czech Airlines Cargo,
Virgin Atlantic, Royal Jordanian and Royal Brunei as their GSA in Sri
Lanka.
Neptune Papers was established in 1997 to export all types of paper
and metal scrap while Classic Papers (Pvt) Ltd is a fully integrated
paper converting facility. Bio Extracts (Pvt) Ltd produces a range of
herbal products in 1993 while Expolanka Pharmaceuticals was established
in 2002 to distribute Baraka Products in Sri Lanka.
Denshun Industries specializes in the manufacture and export of
children's and ladies woven garments. Expolanka Plantations owns a tea
plantation and a factory which was established in 2004. Expolanka
Commodities, Expolanka Limited, Expolanka Teas, Hello Corp and APIIT are
also companies under the group.
