Swimming starts on February 3
SWIMMING: The first swimming meet for this year Age Group Relay
Championships conducted by SLASU will be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium
pool on February 3.
The swimmers will compete in under-10, under-12, under-14, under-16,
under-19 and open both boys and girls. The top swimmers from clubs,
schools and armed forces and Police have entered for the meet.
The champions in respective age categories will be presented trophies
while overall champions will be presented the SLASU Trophies for boys
and girls.
Aquatic Calendar 2007
The SLASU has released the Aquatic Calender for the year and
swimmers, divers, waterpolo players and synchronised swimmers will take
part in 15 meets. The dates and venues of the balance championships are:
February 10-Masters Waterpolo Championships at Police Sports Club
pool at Narahenpita. February 22 to 24 - Novices Aquatic Championships
(swimming, diving, waterpolo, synchronised swimming) at Sugathadasa
Stadium pool.
March 4: Open two-mile sea swim at Mt. Lavinia. March 17: Level
Competition at Ladies College pool. March 22 to 24: Pentathlon
Championships at Sugathadasa Stadium pool. March 24: Ellawala League and
Women's League Waterpolo Tournament at Police SC Swimming pool.
April 7 to 9: Short Course National Swimming Championships at
Mahamaya College, Kandy. April 29: under-20 Waterpolo Championships at
Mahamaya College, Kandy. May 24 to 26: Age Group Championships
(swimming, diving, synchronised swimming) at Sugathadasa Stadium pool.
June 3: One metre Springboard Championships at Sugathadasa stadium
pool. June 14 - Long Course Championships (swimming) and diving
championships at Police SC swimming pool.
September 22: Level (swimming) Competition at Hillwood College, Kandy.
October 31 to November 3: Junior and Senior National Aquatic
Championships (swimming, diving, waterpolo, synchronised swimming) at
Sugathadasa Stadium pool.
December 15: Masters Short Course Championships at D. S. Senanayake
College pool.
