Weerasinghe brothers tame the Lions

CRICKET: Weerasinghe brothers (Sameera and Rajeeva) bowled a fine
spell to help St. Joseph's to a resounding 9 wickets win over Trinity in
their school cricket match played at Darley Road yesterday.
Sameera claimed 5 for 53 in the first innings, while Rajeeva captured
4 for 18. Sameera had a match haul of 7 for 58, while Rajeeva 6 for 82.
Trinity who were lowly placed at 76 for 6 in reply to Joes 228 for 5
decl on Friday were dismissed for 85.
Trinity following on fared better to total 196 with good
contributions from Wasika Munasinghe who stroked 55 with 8 fours and
Lasitha Jayatilaka 42 with 6 fours.
In addition to Weerasinghe brothers, Treshan Rajasooriya 3 for 16 and
Anton de Livera 2 for 10 also helped to wreck the Trinity batting line
up.
Joes needing 54 for an outright victory scored 55 for 1 with Anton de
Livera top scoring with a defiant unbeaten 47.
For Joes it was their sixth successive victory for the season.
