Super Youth - All Island softball champs

SOFTBALL: Super Youth SC, Dankotuwa became All-Island softball cricket champions and thus annexed Singer Challenge Trophy when they beat Singhe SC, Anuradhapura in the final played at Davindra Mendis Grounds, Katunayake recently. The final was confined to 15 overs per side.

Singhe SC Anuradhapura who batted first, made 100 in 14.4 overs and Super Youth SC, Dankotuwa made 102 for 7 wickets in 13.4 overs. Malith Madurasinghe and Hiran Sumith of Super Youth SC Dankotuwa were picked as the Most Outstanding Player and Best Batsman respectively in the final.

The Best Bowler was Saman Seneviratne of Singhe SC, Anuradhapura. In third position of the tournament was Smart Shirts SC, Katunayake who beat Denipitiya SC, Matara in the play-off for third place. In all 251 teams from all parts of the island participated.
