Maestro of Martial Arts Physics
Adrian Francke, maestro of Martial Arts Physics, a registered cardio
workout incorporating modern music and dance is presently in Sri Lanka
for a short stay. Created by Francke five years ago, it has quite a
following not only in Sri Lanka, but also in the West Indies and the
USA.
"Martial Arts is a good sport because you can do it forever," says
Adrian. There is no specific age limit to it since you don't have to be
the best all the time."
Adrian also adds that martial arts is a "disciplined exercise for the
whole body, which can be practised by people of all ages. It keeps you
slim, flexible and mentally and physically strong."
Martial arts has almost always been a part of Adrian's life having
begun training at the age of thirteen. His secondary education
completed, it was the obvious path for Adrian to take. Beginning with
just the style of 'wadokai', he went on to master inshin, typoxin,
kick-boxing and others while also trying out other available styles.
In 2002, Adrian was named the National Heavy Weight Champion in
Inshin. He also won the Best Teacher (Inshin) award for five straight
years from 1996.
With Adrian residing in the U.S., currently classes in 'Martial Arts
Physics' are conducted by his brother in Colombo.
He will also be conducting a charity class at the Dutch Borgher
Union, Thummulla at 8.30 a.m. in aid of the children's section of the
Cancer Hospital, Maharagama on 7 February. Francke also has plans to
begin a 'mixed martial arts' self-defence class for both women and
children in the near future. |
