Heshan richly rewarded
Heshan Unamboowe of Trinity College, Kandy has been richly rewarded
for his fine efforts in swimming at the Asian Games in Doha last year.
He gets U.S. Dollars 200 each for breaking two national records.
Heshan was one of the Swimmers who represented the country at the
Asian Games in the 100 metres Freestyle and 50 metres Back Stroke and
established two national records. In the 100 metres Freestyle, he
recorded a timing of 55.02 seconds and had a timing of 28.57 seconds in
the 50 metres Back Stroke.
Senid Software International richly rewarded the swimmer.
A past pupil of Dharmaraja College and presently at Trinity, Heshan
had made tremendous strikes in swimming under the guidance of his coach
E. G. A. Wilson.
Having started his career at the tender age of four years, Heshan
Unamboowe has progressed smoothly and has won the National Pentathlon
Championships for seven consecutive years and the Junior National
Championship for three consecutive years. He has also won the National
Age Group Championships for seven consecutive years.
