Brass band

The Senior Brass Band of Holy Cross College, Gampaha was inaugurated in 1993 with Mrs. Savithri Dissanayake as the Instructress. The Principal at the time was Rev. Sister Nellie Helen who wholeheartedly gave her full and unreserved support in providing the instruments and guidance.

Today after 14 years of glory and experience, H. C. C. could boasts of a fully equipped and well trained brass band comprising 40 members. The band participates in all school and national functions. The Senior Brass Band has gone a long way since its small start with determination, courage, strict discipline and above all team work.

The present instructors are Mr. Faizal and Mr. Premaratne while the teacher-in-charge is the music teacher of College, Mrs. Savithri Dissanayake.

The present band leader is Miss Sandeepa Kallapatha. Rev. Sister Deepani, the present principal, too spares no pains in her endeavour to support the band in numerous ways and in bringing up the band to what it is today.
