'BITE 2007' to explore ME business potential

The Bahrain International Travel Expo (BITE) 2007, a leading travel
and tourism exhibition will exploit the business potential in the
Middle-East. Sisira Aberatne, Management Assistant Marketing of the Sri
Lanka Tourist Board (SLTB) told the Sunday Observer, that the main
objective in participating in the event was to target the lucrative
market in Bahrain, a new destination in the region.
The BITE 2007 will take place for the third consecutive year from May
8-10 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
SLTB first participated in the event in 2005. He said that the BITE
2007 was a platform to highlight various aspects of tourism to expert in
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. Therefore, the event is an
opportunity to project Sri Lanka as a popular destination in the Asian
region to the Arab world.
The event will be a platform to meet the 90 International MICE
specialists comprising senior corporate executives and professional
travel writers from the Gulf region in a one to one buyer seller
session, he said. He said that the Sri Lankan delegation will be headed
by Deputy Minister, Travel and Tourism, Faizer Musthafha.
