Oil exploration bids to be finalised by October
The Ministry of Petroleum Resources will finalise
bids by October this year to conduct oil explorations in the Mannar
Coastal basin, Managing Director Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC, Kishu
Gomes told the Sunday Observer.

'Sustainabilitea' Convention from Aug. 29 - Sept. 1
The International Tea Convention themed "Sustainabilitea"
will be held from August 29 to September 1 at the Cinnamon Grand. It
will be hosted by the Colombo Tea Traders' Association together with
the Sri Lanka Tea Board. The welcome reception will be held on
August 29 at 7 p.m. at the Cinnamon Grand while the convention will
be inaugurated on August 30 at 8.30 a.m. The first session is themed
"Sustainabilitea" Through Good Agricultural Practices.

Lanka not hit by ban on Indian poultry products
The temporary ban on poultry products from India
will not have any effect on Sri Lanka's poultry industry as we do
not import any chicken from any part of the world, said chairman,
All Island Poultry Association Dr D.D. Wanasinghe.
