Pre-fabricated steel houses to reduce delays

Dunara Constructions, a subsidiary of Agro - Vet Consultants and Developers (Pvt) Ltd, that specialises in steel building constructions plans to introduce pre-fabricated steel structures to local house builders to reduce construction delays.

The company celebrated its fourth anniversary at a function at the Mount Lavinia Hotel last week. The company received an UN award in 2005 for construction work. Dunara Constructions is at Nawala Road, Narahenpita.

Chairman, Dunara Constructions, Prasanna Alwis said the company has constructed several pre-fabricated steel buildings for a reputed local company at Pannala, Koggala and Panadura. The company so far had undertaken construction work for the private sector and was in the process of building a three-storeyed super luxury apartment complex with a swimming pool at Barnes Place, Colombo 7.

He said to build a house on 10,000 sq. ft. with pre-fabricated steel it takes only 45 days. "We give an assurance to our customers that a house can be built within 45 days," he said.

Dunara Constructions General Manager, Gamini Abeysekera said the company had purchased a 17 block land at Tangalle and was building a vocational Centre with 500 luxury rooms, a swimming pool and a Buddhist shrine with funds collected from Sri Lankan expatriates in France. The project estimated to cost Rs 45 million is expected to be completed soon.
