Indrajit Bandaranayake migrates to Australia

RUGBY: Indrajith Banaranayake, one of the finest rugby players produced by Kandy Sports Club in this decade has decided to migrate to Australia with his family in early September.

An old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy he captained the college cricket team in 1990 and represented the school rugby team from 1989 to 90.

He captained Sri Lanka Rugby Sevens and has represented Sri Lanka Rugby xv at the Rugby Asiad in the following tournaments. 1992 - Rugby Asiad in Korea, 1994 Rugby Asiad in Malaysia 2000 - Rugby Asiad in Japan and 2002 Rugby Asiad in Korea he decided 'call it a day' in the year 2002 and started coaching rugby at the Kandy Sports Club as a coach and became the manager of the Kandy SC rugby team.

Indrajith's services for Kandy Sports Club made the club name media unit building as 'Indrajith Bandaranayake Building'. The club members accorded a farewell party to him recently.
