Cast off boredom

Repel idleness and inactiveness:

When you find yourself idle, you will be later suffered with depression, a kind of sickness. When you are alone and idle, your mind wanders in the past and digs the buried tragedies of life and forgotten occurrences of the past which never again see light. And that will lead to living in nightmares of former times. You will also be shrouded from the ghostly apparition of the past. That's the real cause for depression.

Idleness is like a slow torture. It's destructive. And the people who suffer from worries and anxieties are the same people who are idle and inactive. Those whose minds are devoid of any beneficial and fruitful thoughts, spend their most time gossiping, spreading baseless rumours and falsehood.

Those people have nothing to do with their lives. They live their lives for the sake of living. No fruitful work will be generated by them.

Mostly women folk, who don't go to work are content to be with the equally jobless women's company, who stand on the doorstep and watching those who pass-by. They are frivolous in their character, foul in speech and idle and inactive.

Their hearts and minds are absolutely sealed up from any beneficial input. So they squander their time gossiping. They are jobless and don't mind their own business.

Instead of spending their time uselessly and ideally, they can engage in some beneficial work such as stitching, knitting and doing some handy crafts. So at the end they can be satisfied with their creativity. How happy can they be by seeing their own creative art finished.

Idleness tortures you severely without even you are aware of it. Some chinese prisoners are inflicted upon idleness as a part of their punishment. They are kept under a tap and asked to fill the bucket from which a drop falls only after every hour. During the period of waiting between drops many of the prisoners seemed to have lost their minds and driven insanity. The idleness is a slow and veiled form of suicide.

Do away with boredom by working

If you are bored grieved not over it. There is a good medicine for that. It's easily available and costs you nothing. Cast off idleness, the root cause of boredom. Destroy boredom by working. At least take a piece of paper and a pen and start writing whatever thoughts flows in to your mind. Collect your thoughts, write them down. Come out with a nice poem, a readable story.

Apply yourself to something and work at it. Take a book, even a piece of paper which is thrown after wrapping your grocery items, and read. Gather whatever beneficial knowledge. An activity that brings about your soul joy is to read. You can develop your mind through it. A book itself can be a great friend that does not bore you.

When you're pouring through the pages of the book, your senses are stimulated and your intellect sharpens. Reading repels anxiety and grief. Another important thing is that the habitual reading makes you too busy to keep company with the idleness and inactiveness.

It helps to relax your mind from distraction and to save your time from being wasted. Bear in mind that, the knowledge comes in two contradictory forms. The useful knowledge and the harmful knowledge. You do not reap any benefit whatsoever from acquiring harmful knowledge.

Instead it may destroy your very being. Do you know that the nourishment for the soul is in concepts and meanings. And not in food and drink.

Have a good companion

Everybody needs a helpful, loving companion to turn to, to share joys and hardships with, to air grievances to and to reciprocate affection. Having a good and worthy companion brings joy to the soul. Be your friend from the same sex or the opposite.

Gender doesn't count. What counts is the good qualities of the person. A good companion will increase your strength. He will motivate you, never entice you to evil or won't deceive with duplicity.

When you feel you're a victim of boredom, talk to a friend over the phone and ask how he is doing. If you're drown in the darkness of boredom in a great deal, the best thing to do is to visit one of your good friends. And strengthen the friendship at the same time. Engage in a fruitful and beneficial discussion with him.

Get out of your room

Don't confine yourself to your room. There's an exciting world beyond your room. Get out of your room. Feel the cooling effect of the wind blowing against your face and how it chills you and your bored soul. The world out of your room is full of beauty and delight.

Appreciate the wonders of the nature. Learn from the rising and setting sun, illuminating stars, flowing rivers and streams, heavens kissing mountains, green trees, sweet ripened fruits, comfortable air and useful water.

It has emphatically been said that travelling drives away boredom and worries and helps to acquire numerous knowledge. How wonderful it is to see different faces and colours, hear different languages. There's nothing more enjoyable to a traveller than the serene sights and exciting adventures. Woe to those who are confined to their own places......!

Lack of diversity in your life cause boredom

That's human kind's very nature that they get easily bored with lack of change or diversity. Doing the same work over a long period of time bring about boredom in to your life. One who lives in a life of repetition, and routine will almost inevitably become a victim of boredom.

Have you ever pondered over why the nature is created with variety in food and drink of different tastes and shapes, in time and places, diversity in people, animal, diversity in many forms of creations such as night and day, valley and mountain, black and white, hot and cold, shade and the sun, sweet and the bitter. Most prominently good and the bad. One of the scholars once said "The soul is ever prone to boredom".

Get rid of uniformity. Experience new things in your life. Go for a new menu if you've been eating the same thing. Go out for a diner. Have a candle light diner at least once in a while.

Give your place of sitting a new appearance at office. Keep a flower vase or a small statue on your table. Lay a new table cloth for a change. Paint your bed room with a new colour. Change the places of your bed, chairs and cupboards. Change the pillowslips and coverlets and curtains. Remove the pictures hung on wall and replace them with new ones. Experience the difference...!

If you are used to hang out with same friends, experience the acquaintance of different kind of friends at swimming club or gymnasium. Share your ideas with them.

You'll get a new experience being with them.Change your hair style. Try a hot and spicy latest hair style of your favourite movie star. Change the way you dress. Try out latest designs in the market. Change the way you're thinking at the same time. Appear as a new and updated person..........!
