Lunch was from the buffet spread and a mix of eastern and western menu, which now comes under the new Executive Chef Sanjeewa Ranasinghe who has worked at many western resorts and is actually a specialist in westerndishes.

Earls Regency which opened in 1999 is managed by Aitken Spence Hotels andconsists of De Luxe rooms in all amongst which are the Mountbatten Suit, 3 junior suits and 3 mini suits. The property is ideally set in a manner which gives a full scale view of the place to any onlooker from outside while opening up larger scale mountainous scenery's and views of the countryside for visitors residing in the hotel.

Tusith Samaraweera too has been a part of this property for quite sometime. Starting off as its Resident Manager and later being appointed as General Manager is quite an achievement for someone who has learned his trade during a long course of 27 years of industry behind him.

Starting off his career at Palm Beach Mount Lavinia to later join the Holiday Inn, Colombo Tusith joined Earls Regency as a fully fledged hotelier with much of his experience coming from his training overseas. His association with the French hotel chain ACCOR which has acclaimed brands such as Novitel, Sofitel, Grand Mercury and the Sofitel Dubai all under its flagship and Tusith has worked for the prestigious chain for over 15 years.

Tusith said of his present property that the hotel is constantly in an up-grading process throughout the year adding features to its existing facilities. He spoke enthusiastically about his new venture 'Mirabelle' which is a fine dinning restaurant located behind the cluster of bedrooms overlooking the woods. It serves exclusive European cuisine and is verypopular amongst guests, both local and foreign.

Speaking of the progress they made Samaraweera said that last year was a good year for the hotel as it has achieved many awards as the National Productivity Award for 2006 (service sector, 1st place medium) 1st place for Landscape Hotel & Resort outside the city of Kandy. ISO 22000 Award for Health and Safety Quality.

He also claimed that they have an extensive programme laid out for theseason with the best time they can offer to their guests who choose to stay at the Earls regency during the long holiday season of Christmas and New Year.
