STF 53rd Intake passes out
The 53rd Intake of the Special Task Force passed out yesterday at the
STF Training School in Katukurunda, Kalutara.
IGP Victor Perera said that during this crucial period of the
country, tri forces are doing their best to protect the country from the
ruthless terrorism and the STF can be placed in the forefront.
88 Sub Inspectors and 317 Police Constables passed out at the event
-making this the first passing out ceremony in the STF history where the
largest number of Police Officers passed out.
IGP Perera attended the event as the chief guest along with
Commandant of the STF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nimal Lewke.
Many Senior DIGs and several high officials of the STF participated.
The Commandant said the timely decision taken by these youth to join the
elite force is highly appreciated and the STF and the parents of the
officers should be proud of it. Sub Inspector Chamara Samanpriya
Rathnayake received the best marksman (M16 weapon) award and Police
Constable Nuwan Madhushanka achieved best marksman (T56 weapon).
The best Sub Inspector of the intake was R.M.G. Jayakelum and best
Police Constable was Pathmakumara Karunaratne.
