India seeks fresh reports of LTTE
The Indian Defence Advisor M. K. Narayanan was briefed on the current
stance of the Tamil parties who opposed the LTTE in New Delhi, by the
TULF Leader V. Anandasangaree, PLOTE Leader D. Sitharthan and EPRLF (Naba)
Leader K. Sritharan, on Thursday.
The three Tamil political party leaders met the Indian Defence
Advisor M. K. Narayanan in New Delhi and urged India to play a more
effective role in finding a political settlement to the crisis in Sri
Lanka.The Tamil party leader in an extensive discussion with Narayanan
briefed him on the current developments with regard to the North and
East situation.
Narayanan responding to the three Tamil party leaders said that India
is for a greater devolution of power and would insist on it.
The Indian Defence expert also outlined the security measures that
were in place in South India as well as throughout India in curbing the
LTTE infiltrations.
Meanwhile more arrests have been made of those involved with the LTTE,
in Tamilnadu.
The Indian Central Government is expected to seek fresh reports on
LTTE issues in the State in order to continue with the proscription of
the outfit in the New Year as well, sources said. |
