CUTTING EDGE FASHION AND TECHNOLOGY

"mobicast" is the word for the first ever fashion show by Los Angeles based designer Dinesh Chandrasena for Mobitel 3G users on 4th April 2008 at the Galle Face Hotel.

This will mark another milestone in the mobile phone industry when Mobitel "Mobicasts" the mega event live on 3G enabled phones and this pioneering effort is cutting edge technology offering 3G customers wider options and convenience.

The experience will be the first of its kind, not only in Sri Lanka but in the South Asian region too. Suren Amarasekera, Chief Executive Officer of Mobitel (Pvt.) Limited said: "All Mobitel 3G enabled subscribers will be able to witness this mega fashion event live via their mobile phones.

Customers around the world can also log into the Mobitel website - www.mobitel.lk and view the glamourous gowns which have been worn by many celebrities at mega events in Hollywood, along with many new styles which set the trends for spring/summer and fall/winter 2008."

Dinesh Chandrasena has always had a flair for the artistic and his passion for Oil and water colour mediums developed into an interest in fashion design, when he participated in the designer of the year contest in 1989.

After finishing his London A/L's Dinesh continued to get a degree in Fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Design and merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, California.

Dinesh was awarded the Michael Novarese Scholarship based on his design capabilities and creativity displayed when he obtained his degree after three years of study. This resulted in his being chosen to participate in the advanced study program, which entailed an additional year at FIDM, and he also was awarded the Textile association of Los Angeles (TALA) Scholarship.
