SLTA selects junior players for international tournaments

Tennis: The Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) announces its junior players for the international tournaments scheduled in the next few months of this year.

These players were chosen after a series of trials and have qualified to enter the final teams - not only to represent SLTA but to represent and play for Sri Lanka.

The selected players nominated by the selection committee of the SLTA will play at the pre qualifying matches for the Junior Davis Cup - Under 16. Junior Fed Cup Under - 16 World Juniors Championship - Boys and for the World Juniors Championship - Girls.

The average age of the teams is Under 14. They would all compete with other countries in the region to qualify for the main matches.

The selected junior players for each tournament are as follows:

Junior Davis Cup - Amresh Jayawickrama, Arvind Fernando, Shehan Gomesz

Junior Fed Cup - Amrita Muttiah, Shenal Weerasekera, Sherene Wijesinghe

World Juniors Championship - Boys - Vimuktha De Alwis, Sharmal Dissanayake, Thuruna Eswarage

World Juniors Championship - Girls - Nilushi Fernando, Shankan Thyakaran
