China to send team to Japan

BEIJING, Beijing will send a team of experts to Japan on Saturday to aid an investigation into a rash of food poisonings blamed on Chinese-made dumplings, state-run media reported.

The Chinese company Tianyang Food Co, had suspended production over the incident and was recalling its products, Xinhua news agency added. At least six major foodmakers ordered recalls of frozen and prepared foods believed made at the company's factory in northern Hebei province, amid media reports that hundreds of Japanese consumers had fallen ill.

China Japan's largest trading partner and second biggest supplier of imported food has denied Tokyo's allegations that the dumplings contained pesticides.
