CIMA’s global President on igniting leadership

The CIMA fraternity must not only be committed to the core values but also practise them and strive to ignite innovation and leadership in the business community, CIMA’s Global President, Gordon Grant said.

He was addressing the inauguration of the CIMA World Conference at the BMICH on Wednesday.

Grant said the theme of this year’s conference ‘Igniting Passion, Blazing Trails’ speaks of the core values to which members should be committed to be business leaders. Students should be passionate to achieve their goals.

As members of a global body CIMA should ignite the passion to bring leaders to the global community.

CIMA with a 4,000 membership is one of the largest educational institutions which has gained global recognition for leadership and effective bottom line management. He said the membership should adapt to changing global needs while adhering to good governance and ethical practices.

President, CIMA Sri Lanka Division, Aruna Fernando said peace building, innovation, global branding and leadership which are the pillars of the conference affect not only the global business market but also contribute to the core of modern life.

Eminent speakers such as John Hume of Northern Ireland, Deve Steward of the Fedrick Willem De Klerk Foundation, Dr. Atta-ur-Rahaman Federal Minister,Chairman High Education Commission Pakistan and Samina Rizan Regional Director, SAGE West who was instrumental in introducing Oracle to Pakistan spoke at the four-day conference.
