Police personnel rewarded

A sum of Rs. 2.7 million was distributed among the Police personnel serving in the Nuwara Eliya and Hatton Police divisions for their outstanding contribution towards detections in relation to bogus Identity Cards and Birth Certificates and other criminal acts.

Senior Deputy Inspector General of the Central province and Sabaragamuwa province Gamini Nawaratne was the chief guest and Senior Superintendent Gamini Maturata with A.S.Ps of the two regions were present at the ceremony held at the Police Headquarters at Nuwara Eliya.

In the Nuwara Eliya division 18 O.I.Cs, 21 Police Sergeants and 23 Police constables received the awards, while in the Hatton division 12 O.I.C.s, four Police Sergeants and two Police constables and two Police Reserves received awards.
