33 LTTE bodies, ammo found

Troops in 57 Division and Special Forces engaged consolidation operations north of Vavunikulam in the Mannar and Vavuniya front found 33 bodies of the LTTE terrorists along with a large stock of arms and ammunition, reports from the battle front said yesterday.

 

 

Power sharing, devolution

The Government would vest police, land and education powers in the Provincial Councils, including the Eastern Province in keeping with the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and in line with the Interim Report of the All Party Representative Committee (APRC), Minister Rajitha Senaratne said yesterday.

 


Provisions of 13th Amendment

Social Services and Social Development Minister Douglas Devananda said all Cabinet and non-Cabinet Ministers and MPs in the Government were subject to the provisions in the 13th Amendment.

 

 

Patients Charter

The Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition has decided to invite public views for the proposed Patients Charter which will be formulated to protect patients' rights and safety.

 

 

UNP supports GSP+ facility

The Opposition, United National Party pledged its full support to the Government to retain the GSP+ facility provided by the European Union for Sri Lanka's exports including garments and fresh fruits.
