SLTB shuttle bus services during SAARC Summit

The SLTB will operate a shuttle bus service from the Bambalapitiya railway station to the Fort during the SAARC Summit from July 30 to August 4.

Six buses will be deployed for the service and the public can use their train tickets for the purpose.

Three other SLTB buses will be deployed to transport the public from Kollupitiya to the Ceramic junction. The coastal line railway services will be stopped at the Bambalapitiya railway station during this period.

Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said that Parliament, BMICH, Kollupitiya and Fort areas had been declared as High Security Zones (HSZs) for the SAARC Summit.

The public owned vehicles will not be allowed in these areas except for those whose work place and residences are in the HSZs, he said.

He said that only a limited number of vehicles will be permitted to enter the HSZs during the SAARC Summit and vehicle owners should obtain a special pass from the police in their areas.
