Chilaw Marians pile up 386 for 4

CRICKET: Opener Milinda Siriwardena hammered a splendid 105 not out to help Chilaw Marians SC reach 386 for 4 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one tournament match against Moors SC played at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 386 for 4 decl (M. Siriwardena 105 n.o., A. Athulathmudali 84, M. Udawatte 99).

Moors SC: 38 for 1.

Mahesh 88 props up Moratuwa SC

Mahesh Kumara hit a top score of 88 to help Moratuwa SC make 216 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one tournament match against Colts CC which began at Havelock Park yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 216 (M. Kumara 88, M. Fernando 38, A. Jayawardena 3 for 52).

Colts CC: 85 for 2.

Schools well placed

Sri Lanka Schools under 20 team were well placed at 185 for 3 in reply to Tamil Union›s first innings total of 137 runs on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one tournament match worked off at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

Police struggling at 33 for 3

Sri Lanka Police Sports Club were struggling at 33 for 3 in their first innings in reply to Sri Lanka Air Force SC›s total of 294 for 9 on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one tournament match worked off at the Police Park yesterday.

Air Force SC: 294 for 9 decl (A. Eranga 45, P. Samarasekera 55, T. Perera 65, V. Dissanayake 53, J. Peiris 28, S. Mayura 5 for 44).

Police SC: 33 for 3 (C.D.).
