Lanka's capital market has been resilient and had performed well
during the five-year period ending 2006 with an average growth of

SAARC calls for Food Bank operation soon
The SAARC Colombo statement detailed the need to
address the food crisis which is threatening the country, region and

Best Air begins direct flights between Colombo and Dhaka
Best Air, a private Bangladeshi carrier,
commenced flight operations to Sri Lanka with their first flight
arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport to coincide with
the start of the SAARC Summit, and marking the start of direct
flights between Dhaka and Colombo.
