'In-house' reformists

As reported in this column last week, the 'in-house' reformists of the Elephant Party met two days after the PC polls defeat to plan a strategy to oust Ra-Blue, who is at a crucial juncture of his political career.

Johnny Boy, Lucky the Fighting-Gem, Doc Jay Jay, Indy-Car the

Bandara-leader and Thaa-latha Branch-korale are pressurising Ra-Blue to step down immediately.

Gun Shot consoled

Gun Shot was packing his suitcases to return Down Under when he got a consoling telephone call from his leader. After a 15-minute discussion, the leader persuaded Gun Shot to remain in Rajarata, assuring him of the Anuradhapura District leadership at the next election that is general.

Opp. Leader's battle

The big tussle is on for the Opposition Leader's seat in Sabaragamuwa. When One Shot was 'imported' from Katana, Ra-Blue assured former Opposition Leader Double-A V-jay-tunga that he would retain the post if the party loses the PC polls. Now that One Shot is defeated, V-jay-tunga is asking the leader to keep his promise.

Soome confesses

Soome, the One-Sa has asked his Bell Boys to maintain a low profile after their shocking defeat at the PC polls at which they secured a solitary seat from four districts. While admitting that they have been rejected by the masses, Soome has also said Flowery Vee's departure too had a big impact. Poor Soome!

More crossovers

Await more crossovers! Following MR's invitation that the doors are still open for all those who wish to join the victory march, another group of Green Em Pees is planning to join the governing types - some even without portfolios. But they are monitoring the situation to knock the leader off before they cross the 'well'.

Disciplinary hearing

Atta-Leader and three other Green seniors will soon face a disciplinary hearing for admitting that the PC polls were fair. As a responsible party stalwart, Atta-Leader openly admitted that the polls were free and fair and attributed the reason for their defeat due to lack of support at grassroots level. But he and three others will be charge-sheeted for telling the truth.
