Sri Lankan in Nation Cup Netball Tourney

NETBALL: Sri Lanka national netball team led by Sharp Shooter
Shashika Samarasinghe will participate in the Nation Cup Netball
Championship hosted and conducted by Singapore Netball Association to be
held from September 1 to 6 at National Stadium Sports Complex in
Singapore.
According to a senior official of the Netball Federation of Sri
Lanka, the eleven - member team was selected after a series of trials
held recently.
The team has been approved by the Minister of Sports and Public
Recreation Gamini Lokuge.
Among the eleven-member team there are six newcomers who have fared
prominently in the national junior side.
Shashika the skipper, is the most senior netballer who had the honour
of leading the Sri Lanka team to victory at the Asian Junior Netball
Championship held in Sri Lanka. She is Sri Lanka's best and ace shooter.
Teams participate will be from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Samoa,
Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong will compete in the tourney.
The preliminary round matches will be played on a league basis and
the best two teams with more points will battle it out in the final.

Fernando, Shanika Dilhani, Sanjeewani Ariyasena, Dilashi, Surangi,
Iresha Koralage.
