Unilever's Signal a boon to 15,000 families in Malkaduawa

In the second phase of this year's instalment of the award-winning Signal Sina Bo Wewa campaign, Unilever through its number one oral health care brand, Signal, and in partnership with the Sri Lanka Dental Association, successfully implemented an oral hygiene and education campaign for over 15,000 families in Malkaduawa recently.

The Malkaduawa camp is the second for the year for the Signal Sina Bo Wewa program, and follows the success of the first phase concluded in Hambantota in June.

Through the Hambantota and Malkaduawa camps collectively, Signal has drawn crowds of over 23,000 visitors who availed themselves of the free dental treatment services and awareness building tools on oral hygiene and care.

On the importance of such campaigns to oral health care in Sri Lanka, SLDA's Dr Bandara said, 'Oral health problems are one of the commonest ailments for all age groups and tooth decay is the commonest preventable disease in the region and causes unnecessary pain and suffering.
