President Rajapaksa greets Zardari

President Mahinda Rajapaksa telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday and congratulated him on assuming office of the President. Both the leaders exchanged views on promoting bilateral relations, which are based on mutual trust and commonality of interest in maintaining regional peace and development.

The two leaders agreed to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the forthcoming 63rd session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York later this month.
