Remembering Wimalasurendra

The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) is organising a memorial lecture to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of the late Engineer D J Wimalasurendra, one of the greatest engineers in Sri Lanka's history.The lecture will be held at the Wimalasurendra Auditorium of the IESL on Wednesday, September 17, at 5.15 p.m.The Wimalasurendra memorial lecture which commenced in 1989 is an annual event organised by the IESL to commemorate the visionary engineer D J Wimalasurendra, called the "Father of Hydropower in Sri Lanka".
