Cambrian Six-A-Side Cricket Carnival

‘Cambrian - six - a-side Cricket Carnival 2008,’ the annual inter-club six-a-side cricket tournament organised by the Cambrian Cricket Wing of Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa will be held on September 27 and 28 at the Moratuwa Stadium with the blessings of Sri Lanka Cricket.

This tournament is sponsored by Ceylon Cold Stores and all leading cricket clubs who take part in the Premier League Division One Cricket Tournament, organised by the Sri Lanka Cricket have already confirmed their participation. Large crowds are expected to flock to the Moratuwa Stadium to watch their latest star, ‘ICC Emerging Player of the Year’, Ajantha Mendis performing in his home town for the first time after his heroic international performance.

Former Sri Lanka cricketers Bandula de Silva, Lantra Fernando, Gamini Silva, Wasanthalal Fernando and Pemlal Fernando, Badra Seneviratne are serving in the technical committee which spearheads this important event. The organising committee will offer the following prizes to this year’s winners:

Rs. 100,000 and the trophy for the winners and Rs. 50,000 for the runners-up team. Rs. 10,000 and a trophy each for the Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Man of the Tournament and Highest Number of Sixes.
