Sri Lankans for Asian Junior women's VB tourney

VOLLEYBALL: The twelve-member Sri Lanka women's volleyball team will
leave today (Sunday, September 14) to participate in the 14th Asian
Junior Volleyball Championships to be held from September 20 to 28 in
Chinese Taipei.
The championship is conducted by the Asian Volleyball Federation and
hosted by the Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association. Sri Lanka women's 'spikers',
prior to going over to Chinese Taipei, will be in Japan for a couple of
days to play few friendly matches in Kobe, Kyoto and Tokyo at the
invitation of the Japanese Volleyball Federation.
Sri Lanka has been billed to play in the group 'B' alongside Korea,
New Zealand, Japan and India. The other five teams - Thailand,
Australia, Indonesia, Japan and Khazakastan are in group 'A'.
The preliminary round matches in both groups will be worked off on a
league basis.
Then the two top teams with more wins in both groups will play in
criss-cross basis to find the champion and runner-up.
