Continue food supply to Kilinochchi - President

The Government has made arrangements to provide facilities to residents fleeing to the liberated areas from the Kilinochchi district, a media release issued by the Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunge said. President Mahinda Rajapaksa summoned the respective officials and directed them to continue the supply food, medicine and other essential goods to the residents who are still stranded in unliberated areas. This was done before he left the island on Friday to participate in and address the 63rd UN General Assembly sessions in New York.

The President also thanked the officials for their untiring efforts of providing dry food rations and other items to the residents of the Mullaitivu district after the international agencies withdrew from the district on the orders of the LTTE in December.
