SriLankan relaxes rules for Islamic travellers

SriLankan Airlines has made arrangements for the convenience of passengers of Islamic faith, during the annual Ramadan fasting period which is tentatively expected to conclude on October 1.

A limited quantity of dates, fruits and other food items will be allowed to be carried on board the flights to enable the passengers to break their fast at the exact time of 'ifthar', in the evenings.

The airline will also provide takeaway food packets for passengers on Jeddah bound flights that touch down before 6 p.m.

The passengers may need to break the fast while still at the airport terminal.

Islamic passengers are requested to inform the airlines staff of their requirements at the time of flight bookings/confirmations or their travel agents.
