Vidyartha and Wesley create major upsets

RUGBY: Vidyartha College and Wesley College created upsets while Trinity College ran up the highest total of the day on the first day of the all island schools under 16 Division One 12 a side rugby tournament organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association which began at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy yesterday. First shock of the day was when Wesley College beat Isipathana College 10-5 and the next shock was by Vidyartha College who scored a stunning 5-3 win over St. Peter's College.

Trinity College ran up the highest total of the day when they trounced St. Aloysius College, Galle 69-0. Royal College, Wesley College, St. Anthony's College, Dharmaraja College and St. Sylvester's College appear to have booked their berths for the cup quarter finals by virtue of their performance yesterday.

The finals is expected to be worked off from 4 p.m. onwards today with the Principal of Dharmaraja College, S. M. Keerthiratne as the chief guest.
