'Meet in Sri Lanka' campaign unveiled in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) unveiled the "Meet in Sri Lanka" campaign on the eve of the PATA Travel Mart 2008 in the presence of a high-powered delegation from Sri Lanka state and the private sector comprising Prema Cooray, Chairman SLCB, Renton de Alwis, Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Abbas Esufally, Chairman Diethelm Travels, Amal Goonatilleke, Director Sales Taj Hotels Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Hiran Cooray, Managing Director Jetwing Hotels and Senaka Fernando, Manager Indian Subcontinent SriLankan Airlines.

The cohesive campaign developed with partners SriLankan Airlines, PATA Sri Lanka Chapter and MICE industry (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) is targeted at Indian Corporates and Travel Agents and the Indian media. SriLankan Airlines and PATA Sri Lanka Chapter were partners to the 'Meet in Sri Lanka' campaign.

The hoardings in several prominent locations in the city of Hyderabad depicted meeting facilities in Sri Lanka in a diversity of locations inviting the Indian Corporates and travel agents to access the special packages offered by the Sri Lankan MICE industry through SLCB user friendly website www.visitsrilanka.net.

'The visibility of the hoardings is extremely high to entice Indians Corporates and Travel agents to log on to the website' looking for details' said the Indian communication experts.

A special media conference was held at the Taj Krishna to launch the campaign which was followed by an evening event for Indian Corporates and Travel Agents.

SLCB Chairman, Prema Cooray elaborated on the objective of the campaign which is intended to create awareness of the value the Indian Corporates receive by choosing Sri Lanka thereby increasing the visits by them for Corporate meetings and incentives.
